Tjaša Janovljak

Tourist Guide & Local Expert & Destination consultant & Travel Writer & Photographer

My name is Tjaša, which is – surprisingly – only found in Slovenia. I was born in Ljubljana, where I have lived for most of my life. Even without moving, I have changed two countries and three currencies. But that is nothing compared to my grandmother.

Working as

Travel Writer & Copywriter

Member of Slovenian Travel Press Association

Blogger since 2007.

Proud spotter since 2008, writing about my favorite spots in Ljubljana for Spotted by Locals.

I wrote and photographed the whole Ljubljana Beer Guide by myself.

A copywriter for Travel Trade Newsletter and Gastronomy stories from Slovenia of Slovenian Tourist Board.

I cooperate with a few magazines, like:
Slovenia Times,
Dober tek,
Potepanja (Slovenija dogaja!),
revija Avto-Dom,
Rock on net.

Taking pictures for online and offline articles and my blog.

I regularly cooperate with an art group named KUD Galerija CCU
Tektonik craft brewery.

For a decade I was a concert photographer for the online magazine Rock on net
and a car photographer for Mobil magazine.

I published a few series of postcards which can be found in a few shops around Ljubljana.

Recently I am practicing a bit of art with hand pressing and thus re-making the photographs into unique prints. These are also available on sale in some shops.

Fun facts

Female winner of first Slovenian Axe – Throwing Championship.

Turkish-style coffee and džezva lover.

Can’t imagine life without colours.

The one thing I always take on my travels is Zelenko. Besides my photo camera of course.

The funkiest job I did was a parade performance as a companion of Dedek Mraz (Slovenian Santa Claus)

Hitchhiked to Spain for a concert of Smashing Pumpkins.

My next trip is to Georgia.
